Student's
Comments:
‘What
attracted me to Development 1st was the opportunity to get
involved with so many aspects of business. I wanted to use
skills that I had learnt during my first two years at University
and experience the world of work, not being restricted to
seeing just one role within a large organisation. Development
1st has given me an opportunity to use my talents and creativity,
which after two years of being stuck in lecture theatres
is very refreshing!
‘I
have assisted in the management of a training programme,
working with consultants, and I was able to expand on my
knowledge and power point skills to create delegate handouts
and presentations.’
‘The
best part of the job is the scope of work that I carry out.
It ranges from maintenance of the company websites to essential
quarterly accounting to strategic business meetings. Such
diversity offers so much to talk to future employers about
when making a pitch for a graduate job and keeps me challenged.’
‘I
have only been working at Development 1st for 6 months so
far, but already I have been given training and responsibility,
the chance to develop my personal skills and organise two
successful Business Exchange events. As well as this I have
been able to voice my own ideas and contribute to the overall
running and direction the company is moving. My advice to
anyone considering working here is be prepared to get involved
into every aspect of the business, and be ready and willing
to work hard.’
Previous
students have all developed their skills extensively and
have been accepted on graduate programmes as well as becoming
entrepreneurs setting up successful businesses for themselves.
